Sovereign attended the Automotive Global Awards in London last night along with over 150 people from the automotive logistics market. A night of recognition for individual and team achievements across the automotive logistics, purchasing and supply chain sector, it was a night of celebration for Sovereign as our automotive logistics team won the award for IT innovation.
Our innovation allows Suzuki to be connected in real time to every compound where their vehicles are stored in their logistics chain. The compound operators use their own software (not Suzuki’s). EML is connected to their database systems which means that as their operational staff process vehicles on the ground, Suzuki is kept up to date in real time.
By Suzuki having visibility in real time, it can improve its stock management and achieve lower stock levels and higher sales equaling lower storage costs, which is just one of the business objectives we have achieved through working with the team at Suzuki and developing their Suzuki EML system. It was great to have them join our table at the dinner, given the significant role they have played in our achievements. We would like to say a big thank you to Paresh Tailor, Andy Fairy and Marc Hendrickse for joining us last night - it’s fantastic working for them, but also having the chance to catch up away from the office.
